Anaheim Hills is a community that became part of Anaheim in 1970.  It is located east of the 55 freeway and south of the 91 freeway in northern Orange County, California.  In the early 1800s, the 210,000 acres of Anaheim Hills was used primarily as a livestock ranch.  In 1955, with the birth of Disneyland in the City of Anaheim, the housing market in the region boomed, making Anaheim one of Orange County's most important cities.  Louis Nohl, the mid-20th century owner of Anaheim Hills, sold the land to the City of Anaheim in 1970, and in 1971, Anaheim Hills became what it is today: a "master planned community" featuring a golf course, hiking trails, large homes, and ranches.  Residents from Anaheim Hills consider themselves separate from the City of Anaheim and enjoy natural settings that Anaheim lacks.
